[ A Deeper Prayer Lifestyle | TESTIMONIES | ]

The Apostle Paul challenges believers to oppose the powers of darkness while standing in God’s strength and armor and to pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers ……“ Especially in these last days, we cannot afford to remain passive in the face of these foes.”  Paul challenges us to take up the Armor of God and take our place in the battle through prayer or spiritual warfare.  Prayer is an essential tactic if we want to walk in victory in our lives and see that the gospel of Christ is made known in the earth.

God provides the Word of God – the Sword of the Spirit as our primary weapon for confronting the enemy.  Jesus wielded this same weapon to push back the devil’s assault in the wilderness temptation.  He declared to satan, “It is written…” and then quoted the Word to him three times (Luke 4:4-12).  scriptures remains our best means of overcoming evil.  Both the Old and New Testaments offer an arsenal of verses to use in a variety of situations (2 Tim 3:16-17)

The Word of God trains and equips us to be effective prayer warriors.  Praying the Word and declaring it against satanic attacks  pushes back the powers of darkness and brings spiritual victory.  At the same time, the Holy Spirit works through the truth of Scripture to correct, nourish our spirits and strengthen our faith. It is imperative to understand and acknowledge that the following are vitally important in order to be assured of total victory in spiritual warfare.

In order to prepare for this spiritual battle, every spiritual warrior, first in obedience to the Word of God, must at all times:

  • Put on the full Armor of God (Eph 6:10-18)
  • Take Authority in the Name of Jesus (Luke 10:19)
  • Declare the Power of the Blood of Jesus (Heb 9:7,12,14)
  • Recognize the Power of the Word of God ( Deut 8:3)
  • Use the weapon of Praise (2 Sam 22: 4,50)
  • Agree with others in prayer which brings boldness (Act 16: 25-28)

Satan often uses our seemingly impossible circumstances to weaken our faith.  Hence, we must fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith (Heb 12:2) who secures the victory for us.  By believing God instead of the devil’s lies, we cooperate with His plan for victory and confound the enemy’s plan.  Our faith anchored in God’s Word need not be shaken by circumstances. Our assurance of victory in life over satan is based upon the integrity and infallibility of God’s Word, not our own interpretation of circumstances.  Verbally declaring our faith in God’s promises and believing in His power to fulfill that promise is declaring our victory that pushes back the enemy and immobilizes his attacks. (Isa 44:24-26).

Come, and stand in the gap and be a part of God's intercessors and warriors - interceding for the lost and loved ones and see His  strength, His song and His salvation in all His glory...Amen.
